Important updates for our patients
April 2022 – Hygienist Fee Increase
As from Monday 2nd May 2022, our Hygienist fees will be increasing from £65.00 to £70.00 per 30 minute session.
Why is your Hygienist fee increasing?
Apart from general inflation etc, the main reason our fees have to increase is because it is becoming inevitable that, where possible, Hygienists are now required to work with dental nursing support.
Other than legal implications, it also allows the opportunity for a better service and enhanced treatments which Hygienists have traditionally struggled to provide.
December 2021 – It is with a heavy heart and much sadness that The Bosham Clinic Dental has notified the NHS of three months notice terminating our NHS contract. This means that as from Monday 1st March 2022 we will no longer be able to see patients on the NHS and we will be moving over to becoming an independently run private practice.
All our NHS patients will be receiving letters explaining this and the options available to you. Please read your letters and once you have made a decision as to what you would like to do, either call us on 01243 778888 or ideally email us on email@example.com as we are expecting to receive a high number of calls over the next few weeks.
Part of the NHS Terms and Conditions in terminating our contract is that Dentists have to complete all patients who have current outstanding Open Courses of Treatment by 28th February 2022. Unfortunately, in order to accomplish this stipulation and make appointment spaces in our diaries, some patients may receive text messages or letters informing them that we have to cancel their routine Examination appointments. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. If, in the meantime you need to see a Dentist with an emergency concern such as pain or swelling, please do not hesitate to contact the practice and leave a message if the lines are busy.
As a practice, we have by no means taken the decision to terminate our contract lightly and we are grateful to the NHS for their support over the past 14 years.
Please contact the NHS Dental Helpline on 0300 1231663 or NHS 111 for a list of NHS dental practices that are currently taking on new NHS patients.
Patients who wish to remain registered with the practice DO NOT have to sign up to the Practice Plan membership scheme if it does not suit your needs. You are very welcome to remain registered at the practice on a Pay As You Go private basis.
Please take a look at our adult and children price scale listed under the Fees section of this website.
Patients that sign up to the Practice Plan membership scheme will be offered a 10% discount on routine treatments such as fillings, extractions, root treatments and some lab constructed procedures such as crowns, bridges and dentures. This discount will not apply to treatments such as implants, teeth whitening, periodontal treatment (a deep cleaning procedure of the gums) and private orthodontic braces like Invisalign. The scheme will also not go towards any treatment a patient is referred for outside the practice, such as extractions or periodontal treatment referred to a hospital or specialist clinic.
Children treated by the practice on a private basis that require orthodontic braces – depending on their age, severity and the individual case will still be referred on the NHS for NHS orthodontics.
Covid-19 – The health and safety of our staff and patients is paramount. It is our Practice Policy for staff and patients to wear a face mask during your journey through the practice. Since July 2021 we have returned to an Open Door policy in our waiting room but seating will be placed at a social distance of two metres. All patients will be screened for any Covid-19 symptoms when booking your appointments. If, on the day of your appointment you are suffering with any Covid-19 symptoms or you or a member of your household are currently isolating due to Covid-19, please call the practice on 01243 778888 and we will reschedule your appointment.
